Why Pets?
I’ve seen the impact pets have on their people, and I believe caring for an animal is one of the best things anyone can do for their wellbeing. My goal is to capture a moment of that happy friendship on canvas.
My love of oils
Oil paints allow me to work wet-on-wet and wet-on-dry to capture a beautiful variety of fur textures. I can slowly build an animal’s likeness from the ground up. The translucence of oil paints brings depth and life into the final portraits, so you can almost believe they’re looking out at you.
Realistic oil portraits of pets and animals attract a range of clients. I’ve tackled unique painting challenges such as incomplete reference material, fantasy designs, lighting disasters and last-minute gifts.
